A pozsonyi 1918 előtti teológia egyetemesnek nevezte magát és 1912-ben valóban az egyetemes egyház tartotta fenn. 1918/1919-ben a pozsonyi és eperjesi teológiai akadémiák (vagy részei) Budapestre költöztek. A kar hivatalos elnevezése 1918 után Menekült Pozsonyi és Eperjesi Ág. Hitv.Evangélikus Teológia Budapesti Fakultása volt.
