Barts Ferenc (1814–1896) 1839-ben lett a piarista rend tagja, 1857-ben érkezett Erdélybe, ahol előbb püspöki titkárként, majd irodaigazgatóként működik, továbbá Batthyaneum igazgatója (1861-től), kanonok (1874-től), nagyprépost és vicarius generalis (1874-től).
